An 11-year-old artist is creating waves with his unique creations in Nigeria.

From a makeshift studio in a poor neighbourhood in Lagos, Waris Kareem produces incredibly life-like works of art.

He began drawing at the age six.

At eight, he turned professional, becoming the youngest professional artist in Nigeria.

Waris said: “The inspiration behind it is that something going on around me, especially my family.

“The sweat on it symbolises hard work and struggling. And the spoon symbolises food.”
