The message of peace from the “Poets of the World”

POETRY

The second international “Poets of the World” event in Italy, dedicated to the themes of peace, solidarity, and protection of the planet, concluded successfully. The journey brought together poets and artists from three continents, visiting Rome, Florence, Bologna, Ferrara, Rovigo, Mestre, and Venice.

One of the stops on the tour took place on June 17 in Rovigo, at the Taverna degli Artisti, where the participants (pictured) shared readings and moments of intercultural exchange. The organizational work of Stefano Caranti, national secretary of the Poets of the World and creator of the movement’s Italian portal, was decisive in making the initiative possible. Since October 2025, Caranti has coordinated the network of local associations and representatives that made the various stages possible. In a statement, founder Luis Arias Manzo expressed his gratitude to Caranti, describing his commitment and dedication as fundamental to the success of the event.

The tour was documented by photographer and documentarian Lucio Russo of Cento, with video coverage by Caranti. Photos, videos, and testimonies will be collected and published on the Italian Poets of the World portal, creating a permanent archive of the experience.

During the meetings, the anthem of the Poets of the World was presented. It involved maestro and composer Alberto Guerzoni and soprano Rossana Antonio in interpreting the text by Brazilian poet Marisa Cajado, translated into Italian.

“Poetry can be a tool for dialogue among peoples and for building a more humane and conscious world” was the message that accompanied the entire journey.
